JACQUEMUS: THE PARISIEN WINTER

Timeless and essential apparel for men and women: this is the vision of the Jacquemus Fall/Winter 2020 collection. Before conceiving ‘L’Année ‘97”, Simon Porte has questioned himself on the meaning of his work in the contemporary Fashion scenario. This time, Jacquemus aims at effortless and re-usable clothing that can be adaptable for any occasion, but maintaining its French allure and chicness.

Linen is the key fabric of the collection: a symbol of elegant simplicity and a homage to the designer’s childhood. With it, soft and precious yarns, such as mohair, contribute to the dream Simon wants to narrate.  Volumes are minimal and loose (including the relaxed oversize pieces), characterized by iconic tailoring know-how. From coats and tailleurs to knitwear, the creativity of Simon strikes again for its retro-chic inventiveness.

The resulting looks are light and fluid artworks, with fresh and calm tones. For this season, the Jacquemus men and women wear shades of lands and seas. Ultimately, interesting accessories complement the brand universe: bucket hats, plain bandanas, the staple Chiquito bag is revisited again in different materials, the Noeud bags are introduced, as well as a bold maxi-jewelry line.
